This historic property, originally constructed in 1926 by knight Lagasse de Locht, underwent a significant transformation in 1986 to emerge as an exclusive restaurant and banquet venue. Over time, La Butte aux Bois has evolved into a prestigious five-star hotel, now boasting 59 elegantly appointed rooms. Its gastronomic centerpiece, the two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Ralf Berendsen (formerly La Source), holds an 18/20 GaultMillau rating, continuing the estate's legacy of culinary excellence. Complementing the guest experience is La Forêt, a world-class wellness center.

In 2016, the estate expanded with an investment in 20 additional hotel rooms, an upgraded facility for La Forêt wellness center, and a reimagined reception area. The enhancement project, a collaboration with PCp Architects, aimed to elevate the overall guest experience. Key objectives included creating a seamless balance of comfort, ambiance, and discreet luxury.
